Lake Valley - the Valley of Castles and Lakes
The lake valley with its lakes, Lake Hallwil and Lake Baldegg, offers lovely landscapes, unspoilt lakefronts, rolling hills and a fantastic view into the Central Swiss Alps. The lakes are to be easily explored by foot or bike. You also find romantic bathing places and fire places.
The valley attracts with 4 castles: the moated Hallwyl Castle in Seengen, the proud Lenzburg Castle, Heidegg Castlewhich is nicely situated on a hill in Gelfingen and Wildegg Castle with its big garden. There castles offer a big varity of culture with interesting exhibitions.
The shipping company of Lake Hallwil plays an important role. This summer the fleet will be supplemented with a new ship which will surely offer an additional highlight on Lake Hallwil.
Even today a breath of the old times of knighthood can be felt in the small town of Lenzburg. With the representative old town, the Lenzburg Castle and the history, which goes back to the Stone Age, Lenzburg is a cultural centre of the region.
